Steconfer’s scope of works included project management, procurement of locally and internationally sourced materials, surveying, manpower, equipment, quality and safety management regarding its scope.
The project’s design included approximately 19,2 km of single track containing:
- a 700 m viaduct
- 31 turnouts
- 1 depot with 6lines, 1 washing track, 1 lifting track, 2 light maintenance tracks and 1 underfloor wheel lathe.
It is a "fastenerless" embedded system with a lawn/grass finish that has the distinction of being "catenary-free"; an innovative system that has never previously been installed in Australasia.
